The Veluwe is a natural park in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. The Veluwe features many different landscapes, including woodland, heath, some small lakes and Europe’s largest sand drifts. After living in The Netherlands for four years, my hubs and I went to visit the park.
Around 11 O clock, we arrived at the park. We bought the tickets online which saved us some time at the entrance. The paid €20 and it included the entrance to the ‘Kröller-Müller’ museum.
The museum was the first stop. The Kröller-Müller Museum is a national art museum and sculpture garden. It was founded by art collector Helene Kröller-Müller within the extensive grounds of her and her husband’s former estate. It opened in 1938. The collection includes a lot of Van Goghs famous paintings. The sculpture garden is very impressive.
After the museum, we went to the restaurant park. It is located around 5km from the entrance. We stopped there to have lunch. They have a couple of pf vegetarian options. We ordered the udon noodles with grilled vegetables, tomato soup and lactose-free pancakes with apples. The food was surprisingly good.
Next, we could take a 10km or a 26km route to discover the park. We were feeling too enthusiastic and decided to take the 26km route. The route was fantastic. We bike through the forest, the heath, and the dunes. It was beautiful all the way. Every couple of km it felt like entering a different area.
At the entrance of the park, there are white bicycles that you can lend. They were not the most comfortable and fast but they were in good shape. All the bicycles have a children seat on the back so you could also go with a kid.
The 26km route was great. It felt so disconnecting to spend so much time in nature. The Veluwe is a park that I would like to visit again. And I highly recommend it for a day in nature. If you decided to go and visit the park, don’t forget to bring enough water and snacks for the day.
Have you been to the Veluwe? Let me know in the comments below.
Living far away from my friends and family it’s hard. I have been writing a diary to help me to cope with the loneliness and all the thoughts in my head. Besides my blank book, I wanted to have another kind of diary with motivational quotes, and that’s when I found: The 52 Week Journal from The Happiness Planner. As the name says, this book is a 52-week journal, not an everyday diary. This one is good for setting weekly goals and reflect on a weekly basis. To be honest, I have
As the name says, this book is a 52-week journal, not an everyday diary. This one is good for setting weekly goals and reflect on a weekly basis. To be honest, I have been bad at keeping my diary but I thought this weekly journal will be easier for me to keep up so I decided to try it.
The journal comes in a box, with extra sheets for years resolutions, habits and goals. The notebook itself it’s 23cm x 16,5cm. It’s a good size for taking on your bag if necessary. The first pages of the book are for you to fill out before getting started. You have to write down what are the things that make you happy and rate them from 1 to 5, you have to recognize your strengths and write them down as well as the things that upset you. These questions of the first pages allow you to reflect on yourself. To me, it felt weird to write about the things that upset me. But when I was done, I realized how unimportant those things really are. The same with writing down things that made me happy. At first, I didn’t know what to write but when I began I couldn’t stop. This made me more aware of the things that I love to do and that I should do more often.
Once you are done with the first pages, you will get to the weekly page. Each week, you have a page to fill out. There you write down your weekly personal and work goals, the things you’re excited about and the happy things that you will do that week. There is also a day to day guide, where you can write down your plans and to-dos for that week.
When the week is over, before starting a new week, you will find an evaluation sheet. In there you write down the highs and lows of the week, what you’re thankful for, what you learned, and what you want to improve on. It also includes a little rating box where you can circle how you felt that week. I made a routine to write down my weekly planning every Monday and to review my past week.
Since I started with this planner, I feel that I start my week with a more positive attitude, even if unexpected stressful things happen. I like that there is a weekly quote, I secretly like quotes since I´m a teenager. By starting my week like this I am more aware of the happy things that also happened that week.
Since I committed to this journal I feel more aware of doing the things that make me happy rather than just relying on happy things to happen.
The 52 Week Journal is not dated, you can get started with it at any point in the year you want. You can get it through The Happiness Planner’s website.
Confidence / noun:
A feeling of self-assurance arising from an appreciation of one´s own abilities or qualities.
Since last year I am working consciously to improve my self-love and self-appreciation. In this social media era, it gets hard sometimes, because I tent to compare myself to others, even though I know I should only compare myself to the person I used to be. It is a rollercoaster but I am getting better at it.
Last week on Instagram, I asked my followers “What does confidence means to you” and here are my favorite answers:
marisaelisa.jpg Confidence for me is being daring, having trust in myself, that one way or the other you will be able to cope with whatever life has in store for you. Seeing that there is no failure but just growth through good and bad. Having balance in mind and soul 🙏🏼
laurabbehnke Confidence is believing in who you are and what you’re doing without worrying what others think. That’s when you are at your best.
astrid_ray2004 Doing the things you love to do and inspire other people.
sarada.sup Knowing your worth, Knowing your truth, self-love, and self-knowledge.
stylethesustainable Confidence is being happy with yourself and believing in what you do. We could all do with more of it at times! 💙
jonelinf Confidence is knowing that I am ok the way I am. Loving life and excepting that others are the way they are also helps. Confidence often has to do with the way we think others think about us. Letting that thought go is really helpful.
alisson_simmondsConfidence for me it´s to love and trust myself, not caring what others think, being honest and courageous.
We are all clear about what confidence is, but how do we growth confidence in ourselves? Here are some of the things that I do to help me boost my self-confidence:
1. Wear only clothes that you love at all times.
The last months I have been busy with minimalizing my wardrobe, and one thing I learned is to wear and own only the clothes I love and make me feel good. Even when I work from home, I dress as if I´m going to the office. This helps me to feel good about myself at all times. I also have comfy clothes, but those I leave for the chill nights and Netflix kind of days.
Meditation has helped me to be at more in peace with my thoughts. I still have negative thoughts sometimes, but by meditating it helps me learn not to engage with those thoughts. It is a long process, but I feel every day better and the best thing is that I feel the improvement. I use an app called “Headspace“. At least 3 days per week I wake up 10 minutes earlier and do the meditation exercise for beginners.
3. Stop apologizing for everything.
I realized that I did say “I´m sorry” a lot. Sometimes to apologize for my awkwardness, my nervosity, my been loud… I realized I was apologizing too much for being me! I decided to consciously stop doing this. This has helped me to recognize how I am and to accept and love myself a little bit better. Of course, I do apologize when I do something wrong, I just stop apologizing for been myself.
4. Write on a diary.
Writing has helped me to release unnecessary stress and thoughts. On my diary, I write my struggles and my worries but also I write the positive things that happen in my life. Once I see them on paper I realized how blessed I am and this helps me to boost my self-love therefore my confidence. Besides a normal diary, I started a “confidence” diary from The Happiness Planner (see it here). This is a 30 question journal that helps you think about your current confidence level and set goals to increase it and be confident in different aspects of life.
5. Take care of your posture.
Working on the desk, walking, biking and most of the time, I remind myself to stand tall and straight. Once I do it I immediately feel better. I don´t know if its proven, but it’s a little thing that makes me feel good.
6. Exercise your gratitude.
Since I read the book “The magic by Rhonda Byrne” I have been using gratitude and it has improven my life. Being grateful for what I have in my life, for the simple reasons of been healthy, alive, and the people in my life is a humbling thing. It charges me with positivity and helps to improve my self image wich silently helps to boost my confidence as well.
Working on your confidence is a procces and it´s totally normal to feel bad at some points, and that´s ok. We are humans and we love to add a little bit of drama in our lifes. But when you are feeling down, try to accept it, feel bad for a while and move on.
I hope this tips helps you to boost your confidence. If you also have a good tip, please share it on the comments below.
