Bamboo Cotton Buds From ZustainaBox

Using less single-use plastic products has become more and more necessary. Earlier this year the European Parliament has voted to ban single-use plastic cutlery, cotton buds, straws and stirrers as part of a sweeping law against plastic waste that despoils beaches and pollutes oceans. The law will come into force by 2021 in all EU member states.
This is very good news. Plastic is a very big issue, and this is the start of a big change in the products we consume.

The time has come, to find eco-friendly alternatives to plastic cotton buds. Luckily there are a lot of new brands adapting to the upcoming law. This time I want to show you the cotton buds from the brand ‘Loofy’s’.

The cotton buds of the Dutch brand Loofy’s are made of bamboo with soft cotton tops. This makes the cotton bud 100% biodegradable. The buds, as well as the packaging, are completely plastic-free. The packaging material consists of paper and cardboard from FSC approved wood. Besides, only bio-ink is used for printing on the packages.

You can use the cotton buds to clean your ears or fix your make-up. Bamboo buds are an easy swap towards a zero waste / less waste lifestyle.

I discovered the brand ‘Loofy’s’ via ZustainaBox. The ZustainaBox is a box full of sustainable alternatives for your current products. The box contains between 7 and 8 items and gets delivered every 8 weeks. The products are all vegan, cruelty-free, help you towards a plastic-free life and are made with a low environmental impact. When you subscribe as a member, you will receive weekly tips and inspiration for an eco-lifestyle in your mailbox.

The boxes get deliver as green as possible. Within the cities, the delivery is by bicycle, outside the cities is with green cars. The next delivery dates are:
– The week of 21st October
– The week of 16th December
– The week of 24th February
